I'm starting my research by sending emails asking for meetings with all these lovely involved people. I'm also familiarizing myself with what community gardens there are in Van, and which ones have an online presence.

The UBC farm is sort of like a community garden.

They're all students and from my experience are more than happy to explain things to people about plants and growing things.
Also: workshops, and field trips.
I'll keep an eye out for other community gardens.
