Follow up!

So what have I been doing to wrap up Rachel Grows? Well:

Here is the vectorized (and re-jpegd for posting) version of the EYA logo. Fun!

And here is the food security illustration/ logo for the SPEC working group on that topic.

Here is their waste management logo/illustration.

And a nice, vectorized version of their logo. Hooray!
More to come.

  1. Copyright situation on these?

It would be fair to keep them unavailable for other to use if the organisations were concerned about other groups re-using the logos and looking too much like them.
=Copyright them in the normal way.

As an alternative, you/they could provide the source files (.ai or .svg) but ask people to only use them for learning purposes and not to produce content.
    =Creative Commons - Attribution - Non-Commercial

Or make them free for re-use, with attribution to you and/or continued open usage.

In any case, I'd like to have access to the files used to make these, just for my learning purposes. It would help me to see how layer and objects are organised in a well-made project. Good habits and all that :)

  2. Good thoughts, for sure. Probably would be more willing to do a standard copyright with these, but to provide files upon request to people I know. My major discomfort with giving editable files away has to do people editing them (poorly), but some of the attribution coming back to me. Ew. I like to know that I have some leverage (besides legal) if something like this were to happen.

PS I can give you files when you get back in town.
