Actually, day one will be on Friday. That is, day one of my month-long foray into Vancouver Urban Agriculture. We're on day negative 2. I've set up this blog to document my adventures-what I learn, what I do from day to day etc. The working title of this project was originally "Spore," the idea being that I was working to develop a network between everyone involved and interested in growing things and developing food security in the city. I would have set up "vancouverurbanagriculture.blogspot" as the counterpart to the existing calgaryurbanagriculture, which I manage, but a) there's already a website under that name, and b) this blog is just to help me keep a record. After the project, I'll use it to develop my report on what I learned and who I helped.
For now, I'm busy putting together a schedule of who I'm going to volunteer for. If you know of any places in the Vancouver area that could use a helping hand, I'm available this month to get involved.
